Robert, Plaskit does do some of the nicest resin stuff around, his castings are always perfect, with very little if any flash, the same quality as KFS I think, I like the detail so far on your trailer, and do hope that you are putting caps on those valve stems, you don't want them to leak

Been quiet on the trailer front recently but hauling (1/24 scale) beer is not forgotten, Micro-Mark O scale rivet decals being used for fastener detail. For a smooth side trailer it is surprising how much "texture" there actually is. Door hardware made up from styrene strip, 3/64 brass rod and 1/16 x .006 wall brass tube. Handles are from the container trailer kit. White metal cleats from Model Shipways detail parts selection used for cast latches on trailer itself.

That looks pretty good! I've never heard about rivet decals. Do You have an www of micro-mark?

They are a very helpful detail item, made for the model railway market (HO and O scales) but very adaptable to other scales and uses. www.micromark.com

Modelling time has been limited recently so not a lot of progress to report, however there is a coat of primer applied (rivet decals look that much better with paint, decal film blends right into the model) and glad hand/electrical hook up installed. Plaskit glad hands and trailer plug used, drilled out for .020 brass wire which will slip inside wire insulation used for lines. .016 sheet aluminum mounting plate, 3/64 brass rod and .040 square styrene strip used for fittings connecting glad hands to plate. (It would have been soooooo much easier if Labatt's had spec'd a simpler installation....... )

I was wondering where do you all get the coupling for your lines and wiring or how do I go about making them thanks

Progress report = slow to very slow however did get gold paint on finally. Wheels painted blue with silver trim, still have detail painting of oil hubs to do. Getting close to the decal stage though! Glad hands and trailer plug are resin items, brake valves were made from styrene strip using reference photos as a general guide. .020 brass wire pins installed in brake chambers and valves before attaching them to trailer, then air lines (insulation removed from 24 gauge stranded wire) slipped over pins.

Fantastic work. This trailer is coming along very nicely. I like the dunnage. Nice touch.
Four axles! That's a lot of beer!

Thanks Jim, lettering and detail painting started. Brake drums I wanted to try rusting with a rust antiquing system sold at Michael's craft stores, local outlet doesn't carry it so traditional baking soda and rust coloured paint, Badger Modelflex roof brown in this case, was used. I don't know how many bottles it works out to but I understand these 4 axle trailers could payload 80,000 pounds of beer!

Just about there, lettering and stripes added along with mudflaps and most of the lights/reflectors. Amber lights along roofline still to go on. Stripes cut from yellow and blue Microscale decal film. Close up showing lift axles raised. FRP texture shows up well, some more work with clear to blend decal film in still needed.
