don't ask where "Farmboy" came from--I have no clue. Here's the mockup. Tank is for mockup only--it goes to the Dodge CNT. I will be using a cut down tank from the Texaco tanker I just picked up. Tires are RC tires, suspension is from an OLD 6x6 monster rig I built as a kid.

Dang now that looks sweet.I think you made the wise decesion by changing the front tires. Those flotation tires you had in the first pic wouldn't do much in the slick mud.I'll be keeping my eye on this build.

"Farmboy" came about because these trucks were used mainly on the huge sprawling farms to spread itrrigation, fertilizer and other chemicals in a quicker, more efficient manner. The trucks were made to sit higher so they could continue to be used even after the crops started sprouting from the ground. You still see quite a few of these old trucks sitting on big farms in the midwest and down south. Your truck looks great so far and the idea of the Monster Truck suspension really was a good one. The higher suspension and mudder style tires are definitiely a must for this truck to be an accurate representation of the 1:1 vehicle. Keep us updated on your progress. This is going to be one sweet rig, that's for sure!!!!

thanks for the background Brian. The tires are taller than what I wanted, but I'll settle for them. The axles and springs came from a 6x6 Frieghtliner monster truck I built about 20 years ago and they are the only things that have survived over the years.

Looks cool. I like the tire choice and the R/C tires are a good fit for that type truck. It actually doesn't even look like the tires are out of scale either. Good thought for the monster suspension too. I'll be waiting to see the finished truck. Keep up the good work.

The farms up the road from me have these trucks running thru the fields all spring till the crops sprout(corn and soy beans). Never saw one get stuck yet. But they spray some pretty awful smelling stuff on those crops. This will be a nice model, Jerry. I like the step.
