Hi All,
I am working through this kit (AMT Mack R Series, T535601) and I have hit an iceberg. I am assembling the frame and the front suspension. They have a step where I am to attach Pitman & Idler Arm but the instructions do not show a clear drawing of where it goes. Has anybody out there built this kit or at least familiar with where this would go? As I am not a truck guy, I was also curious as to what this part does on a real truck? I am also missing the right front shock and primary fuel filter on the frame. Does anyone out there happen to have an extra? Thanks for your help.

The pitman arm is the lever on the output or sector shaft of the steering box. The idler arm (incorrectly named) or drag link, connects the pitman arm to the upper arm on the left spindle or steering knuckle. I don't have any spare parts for this kit, but the fuel filter can be made from any car kit oil filter and a small block of plastic for the mount. Any shock of the correct length can be substituted, just use two so both sides look the same.

You might want to try and post in the used truck corral section on here for the parts you need.
