The basic idea would to remove a section from the center with the least amount of detail. You may also have to cut around the front fenders. Next step would be to glue the top of the hood together than pie cut the top corners from the joint out to correct the misalignment of the sides. Depending on how the sides work out you may have to add or remove some material on the fenders. Remember that if the side of the hood is to be moved in or out, this will effect the angle of the fender. The last major step will be to determine if the rear of the fender was attached to the cab or if they stuck out from the hood. The last part is the most fun!!!! Fill, sand, fit, sand, prime, sand, prime, sand, well you get the picture! Don't forget, you will have to enlarge the dog house when the cab is moved forward.

Cut the required length from the hood about 1/2 inch from the rear edge of the hood. The curved cowl wrap-around will have to be reinstalled with modifications to the hood shell and the wrap around so that it fits the width of the hood and the cab.
You might have to cut the hood shell in half, add a wedge shaped piece to the center to widen the hood slightly so that the hood clears the cab cowl. Doing this will push the fenders out at the rear, so you will have to adjust them also. The leading edge of the hood will need to be straightened also.
On the Transcon short hood Road Boss I built, I mistakenly forgot to build the hood to include the wrap-around at the back of the hood. Duh.
