For my next project I plan on kitbashing a t800 daycab wrecker from the can-do kit and amt's t-600 w/ a resin hood, but I'm not sure on how to go about it... Should I mount the kenworth cab onto the can-do frame and hope the mounts work, scratchbuild them OR build the kenworth on it's own frame and splice it onto the can-do frame. I'm going to have to shorten the frame anyway to get rid of the sleeper so I'm thinking the latter. Any suggestions?

The frame splice would be the simplest option since you'ld have to shorten the frame anyway, and would save you time adapting and building mounts for the cab, tanks, etc, not to mention margin of error is increased for trying to get things to line up. On my Mack mixer, I put the DM600 cab and hood on the DM800 rails, and had to transfer all the mounts as required, after it was all said and done, the hood was 0.020" off center, not noticable, but it bugs me to know it is out of whack.

You are building the T-600 with a T800 hood?
Build your chassis as per KW T-600. If you need longer wheelbase, stretch as needed. It is easier to graft the wrecker body to the frame than rework the Can-Do frame to suit the KW cab, hood, motor.

albertabill: Fine build, never see .020", but I know what you mean.
