hey all, I appreciate everyones helpful advice on my Dodge 700 build. I wanted to ask if there is a way to strip and existing model of it's glue and it's paint to start a project over again. I have a friend started a build a few years ago on a mack r model and he has just set it aside and never finished it. He brought it to me and said have it. I would like to tear it down and start fresh at a later time. From what I can see he has painted the cab, interior floor pan, wheels, frame and fifth wheel. the rear wheels have been attached to the axle. I appreciate if anyone can throw me a bone on this one. thanks a million you guys are great!!!!!

Hampton If you go to page #5 in the How Do I section and look under the thread Stripping Paint you should have all the information you need to continue with your project. Hope this helps out. Jeff

i just stripped a pete 352 not long ago and i used PINE-SOL...it did the job well even with about 3-4 layers of paint on it...you just need to be patient when doing as it does not remove it instantly . i put it in a container and coverd the whole cab and left it soak and kept working the pine sol with an old tooth brush.after its stripped wash it with warm soapy water and let dry and then start the paint process...hope this helps...

To separate glued together parts soak in some water and put in the freezer. When the water freezes it will expand the plastic and weaken the glue joint. The parts should come apart easy.
