Yeah, but will the winning bidder actually come through with payment? This is happening more and more often now with these outrageous auctions. Keep track and see. I would be willing to bet it comes back up again in a couple of weeks because he never got paid for the auction.

I would be willing to bet it comes back up again in a couple of weeks because he never got paid for the auction. Yeah, makes you wonder. I remember several years ago when I saw a girl in the office (I was in for something, office is not my cup of tea for a workplace) on ebay bidding up prices on a friends auction. There as no intention of buying it, just getting the price higher. Even if this doesn't happen on a regular basis, there are some really strange people out there if they are actually bidding on some of this stuff and paying those prices. If I do bid, generally I bid what I'm willing to pay and if I get it fine, if not then no big deal. Doesn't much matter now, the wife pretty much said that I had to cut off the buying on the CC

Seems like there's bad ones on both ends. I have one that was supposed to be shipped USPS Priority. It's been a week since shipped so emailed the guy and now he's saying it was shipped Parcel Post. I'm getting really spooked about eBay. Win

I haven't been on ebay in awhile. I'm amazed at the deals I got sometimes, but it's easy to say "just this once" and go against your standard when it comes to that kit that you never see and always wanted. The AMT Kenworth mixer comes to mind, especially when you see the dogfights happening over it. I often wonder if the winner is someone who said to himself,"just this once, because it's this(you fill in the blank) kit.", who otherwise won't go over $40-$60. I would be lying if I said I didn't. I almost had the aforementioned mixer 2 summers ago, but towards the end, it got UGLY!!! It finally sold for $375. I quit at a little over $200. I'm glad in the end that things went the way they did. If I spent that kind of money, I want several kits coming home to me. Then I wouldn't mind so much if I spent a few extra dollars.

I hate it when you pay these prices for that 100% complete kit and then you get that kit you paid an arm and leg and that kit is INCOMPLETE................That is when eBay rage takes over !!!!! Recently I have been ripped FOUR times this past month on Ebay. People are there to make a buck no matter who they screw. LUCKY none were over model kits. Buying electronics, one guy screwed 11 people for over $4750. I was lucky, I got my $399.00 back cause I used my charge card and got a charge back from them, but alot only got $200.00 back from Paypal cause that is all they will cover. One guy is selling refurbished for new,and two more are selling items that are not what they are saying they are. All I have to say is watch who you bid on. Check feedback and how much they have sold. USE A CHARGE CARD CAUSE eBay WILL NOT HELP YOU !!!!!! AND KEEP ALL EMAILS ON PAYMENTS OR SHIPPING UNTIL YOU ARE SATISFIED. Most will work with you,but some are the worst and you are out postage to send their mistake back to get your refund. AND IF IT IS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE...WATCH OUT !!!!!!! BEEN THERE AND GOT SCREWED ON THAT.......

I agree about the outragous prices on E-Bay and some of the shady dealing going on here. I'm a big collector of die-cast trucks, mainly the winross type and mostly deal in the"fallen flags". What i do, if i really really want a certain truck I put in an outragous high bid. If the other person really wants the truck, they have to out-bid me. I know this sounds like a bad thing to do, but if i've been looking high and low for a certain truck, and the price is right every man for themselves. I'm not a sniper per se, but have been known to out-bid in the last minutes of the sale. Why wait until somebody does it to you, if you really have a model in mind and it's the price you can afford, go for it. And for all that work,,,,Perfect E-Bay score!

easy way to solve the prices is dont but it. if someone wants to sell it bad enough they will lower the price. if not they can keep the items.
