Come on Brian..... ???Where is your sence of adventure ;D ;D My sense of adventure went right out the window when my airbrush gave up the ghost! Not enough money right now in budget to invest in a new one unfortunately. Otherwise I'd be all over it!!!! Ok then let do silver to blue fade pattern. That can be done out of rattle cans. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D only kidding

I'll let you make the call on the blue Mark. As for silver, that Sterling Silver is by far the sharpest so i think we should go with that.

Sterling Silver? Where can we find that?
I was gonna go with Krylon Silver and True Blue ... I'm chained to rattle cans at the moment as my airbrush is still MIA after a move last summer

I stoped at the Local Hobby shop after work tonight. I looked at all the blues on many racks of paint. And I'll tell ya I have to agree that French Blue looks very good. But holy crap I can by House of Kolor paint cheaper than Testors paint. But any ways..... I picked up a spray bomb of French Blue and one of the Silver Brian suggested. I came home and did a test shot of the 2 colors together. They look good together. Below is the picture of them and it doesn't do the two colors justice either. Testor make the French Blue both in rattle can/ spray bomb and in 1/2 ounce bottles. The part number for the 1/2 ounce is 2715 while the rattle can part number is 2915. The Sterling Silver Metalic 3D that Brian suggest I could only find in a rattle can in the Model Master Custom laquer System. The part number for this is 28141. So now we have the colors set. French Blue and Sterling Silver Metalic 3D. For this CBP the primary color will be the blue and the accent color the silver. The reason for this is when the silver was shot over my larger test board it looked pretty close to aluminum. Well I'm off to bed now since I have been up for the 45 of the last 48 hours. Just gotta love this cold weather for service calls.

I like the combination of the French Blue & Silver Metalic 3D. Now We just have to figure out where it's going to go.

I am thinking the whole truck French Blue with up to 3 silver stripes down the side of the hood, cab and sleeper to break up the blue. Some thing very basic so as to retain the no frills fleet look. I also like Scotts idea of the unit numbers and think this should be implimented as well. But to add to this we should also come up with DOT, MC, KY, NY (Authority Numbers). Another thought would be to add a satalite to the trucks as well.

With that being said,a plane company owned truck should have a standard paint scheme.Lots of fleets that used O/O's would have the same colours, but let the O/O pick the scheme. An O/O truck ordered new with company colours could also have a factory stripe package using the company colours. As for the #'s is it just a 1,2,3, to 78 type thing or as done in some fleets have the year of truck worked into it,like 7901 , 7915 ,6578,6532,8701,8765 .The trucks my dad has working for him are numbered with the unit year included, but in the past has worked for companys that moved each new truck up by one number These are things to consider so the fleet will look uniform. Who thought this would be simple .

Wow, Lots of things to consider here guys. I don't know nearly as much about the 1:1 stuff you all do I just know what I like and I like all the suggestions so far for this fleet. I will just keep checking in to see what the final decisions will be and I will follow your lead. How would I find out what the correct DOT numbers would be for my state of North Carolina? Again I am just a huge truck fan but don't know all the real important stuff that you all want to go with so a bit of educating would help me a lot! Thanks. Paullie

Can the silver be bought in the bottles. I don't use enamels or Laqour based paints in the apt. (little kids and animals lungs you know) Can it be any shade of silver as it is being the accent color? I have not used a rattle can in a long time and been getting very good with Tamiya paints through my airbrush. I know I can get french blue in acrylic paints but about the specific silver is another story.

As for DOT # ... What about the date the site was started ?? As for my truck number .. I used my area code...
I have a Mack Cruiseliner cab that's homeless so I'l work out the details of my scheme later to today using it...
As for the paint.. I'm stuck using rattle cans from Wal mart... since the nearest LHS is 60 plus miles
Have we worked out the decal matter ? Someonecmight need to get that going to handle the flood of request that's bound to start
