I have been busy on a neighbouring forum for a while with a trio of club build projects. They are fairly well along now so I don't mind sharing them, this is a large part of why I haven't posted a lot of progress reports lately. Monfort "circus wagon" based on the AMT kit: Newer Monfort lettering on an Aerodyne, Revell "snap kit" being used for this project: Michigan steel hauling cabover, this is being built using Heller's reissue of the old 1/43 AMT Kenworth cabover:

Thanks guys, all 3 projects have been challenging in different ways, definitely a step out of my usual "comfort zone" (1, maybe 2 colour paint jobs!) so a good learning experience as a result.
I admit the yellow/orange/white "circus wagon" took two tries.......it went back to primer in between. Gold stripes on the 1/43 cabover are from the Microscale HO model railroad line, sold as 1" wide stripes in HO. Very nice to work with.

Nice tip about the stripes. Do they come in blue? I purchased some 1/64" stripes, but they are too big.

I stopped in today at the hobby store that got gold stripes in for me, Microscale does show blue in the stripe selection of their catalog, I don't know what shade of blue it is though.

Thanks, a little more progress today. Orange stripe on "circus wagon" made with decal paper painted orange, strips cut to required width. Chrome self adhesive vinyl for air cleaner straps, non skid areas on battery box/step are 220 grit sandpaper: More striping on the Aerodyne (with more to do yet!), drive wheels painted to match cab: Old & new members of the fleet parked side by side:

Getting the Aerodyne caught up with other projects, frame painted brown and front wheels Alclad aluminum: Deciding to add the row of bolts at top of air cleaner should have been done before painting however managed to do so without damaging anything, made simple decal on CAD program to locate holes. Once they were centre punched/drilled (#75) decal was removed, short pieces of .020 styrene rod inserted and depth set with tool made from sprue and styrene strip spacers, in this case .030 square: Snap tab slot on battery box cover hidden with strip cut from K&S .016 sheet aluminum:
