Ok, here's my fullsize truck. Now, I am not old enough to have my CDL or my license, but I do have my permit and will have my license by the first of nthis coming year. My truck is a 1987 Dodge Ram 150 with a 318 and a auto trans. This just a plain jane truck, but boy is she ever reliable. Now, my dad and I haul scrap, so that kinda makes this a fullsize truck.

hi guys I have driven alot of trucks over the years but these two were the first. my brothers 1970 GMC 9500 long nose 318 detroit 16speed spicer duel stick. this truck was a beast. the other was a 1966 white 265 cummins with a ten speed. my brother and I bought that white for 500 dollars in 1978 off a freuhauff dealer who had taken it on a trade he almost gave it to us but then he realized that we really wanted it. took it home paintred it and rebuilt the motor and that truck made us alot of money. boy that seems like a lifetime ago. my brother has since passed and I keep driving along. gave up owning and now just a driver for someone else. now that i turned down memory lane I cant seem to find my way out, maybe a nav system might help.trucking is all ive ever done. cant imagine doing any thing else. Ill shut up now and dig out some more pictures, thanks for listening james champion

Benjamin: Nice wheels for your first! You will always remember and probably have a hard time being any prouder of your first set of wheels. Take care of her and yes, she will take care of you. Be safe and drive safe Ben!! James: No, do not shut up! I like sitting back and listening to memories like yours. I'll listen any time that you feel like typing. May your brother rest in peace. You too, be safe, drive safe!! Bruce

Taking over on the toll that day must been a "baptism by fire!" Who was prouder at the end of that day, you or your brother?! I am sure he is smiling down on you every day James. On Wednesday he will get to his final rest and the peace you will feel inside will be so great for both you. Please talk with friends/family as often as possible. Talk is a great healer and NO, talking to yourself is not bad. Heck, it's the only way I can win an argument in my house. I am on here everyday too. I find that building is a great "reliever" too when I need that "something or a mental fixer upper." 'type' to you later James!!

Thanks for the compliment on my truck. It isn't my first truck however, I used to have a 1979 Ford F100 with a 302 and an auto trans that I bought 2 years ago for $100 and sold it back in September for $200 cause I didn't have the time or the resources for parts for it. And I'm glad I did because three weeks later the rear axle decided to go out in my current truck(pictured above). A new-used axle cost me $35 and the lines and compression fittings for the brakes cost me about $80. So it was kinda one of those win-win situations. You can see more pics of my truck here: s177.photobucket.com/albums/w235/LyleRawson/My%20Daily%20Driver/ And you can see the pics of my old truck here: s177.photobucket.com/albums/w235/LyleRawson/My%201979%20Ford%20F100%20Custom%20Explorer/

hello everyone when my brother passed I helped out his wife by running his truck for her to keep some income for her. I drove his truck from sept 06 to sept 07 until we parked it for good.then I moved on to my current job. I had this tribute done and proudly displayed it on the side of the hoods. the truck is a 94 volvo. just a thought I know we all think we will live for ever protect your family get life insurance my brother had none and it has been a struggle for his wife.i have had mine for many years and it is the one bill i always make sure it is paid. I sound like an insurance salesman but just think of your family if you are not there for them. be safe everyone james champion

Hey Ben. Thanks for posting the pics of your Ford picky. The tube grills really looked nice in that body style. The 302 was a very good motor too. (along with your now, 318. in p/u's are real tire burners!) I had to chuckle when I saw the dice on the mirror. I wonder if the very first person that hung the dice knows what they started?! I too had to have a set and have had more than one pair since. When the wife and I get the kids out of the house the 60's Impala SS's, Camaro's and/or Stangs will return. Of course, so will the dice! One thing I've always wanted but can't seem to find a decent one of is, a Hula dancer. I'll keep looking and Christmas is coming!! SO?!?!

Hauling a dry load of cement? I drive I-29 M-F to and from work. I see more and more of the super singles. What is the advantage James. One tire cheaper to replace vs two? Do you actually have more square inches of tread on the road for better traction? No diffference in traction vs duals? Any difference in ride? Quieter? But what if you lose one tire now. Can you continue? Must you lower your speed on your way to repairs? What is the cost difference? All tire shops able to repair and what is the availability of this tire? Are retreads available? Enuf ?'s for now. Thanks for the pics James. Do you have this "ride" on a shelf at home yet?

lets see one super single costs about 550 dollarsso cost is close. i do think that more width is on the road traction is good ride is good and quiet. with the aluminum rims the weight is less than duels so advantage es are good butttttttttttttt if you get aflat or blow out you are down there is no limping it to a tire shop so that is not good.and not everyone stocks them you wont be able to call a mom and pop tire guy you will need a big dealer whos carries them. they can patch them without taking the tire off the rim. tire wear is good ive got 25000 miles on these tires and they still look new. i keep the pressure checked regular 120 lbs air pressure. this is the first unit i have driven with the super singles and i do like the ride but i have not had a flat or blow out yet so if and when that happens im sure ill be cursing them. I hope i didnt jinx my self drive safe james

Nice looking flatbed you got there. The area reminds me of Ft. Polk. Was stationed there 1992-1995 (when I wasn't in Saudi Arabia!)
