Jarda Your scrap is far superior to what most of us can make. weather the sizes are exact or not is not important. If you tell people it is not an exact scale replica they can decide if they want what you offer or if they think they can do better. this is a piece that MANY of us would love to be able to have

Okay guys, I will see what I can do about possible casting of this unit. First I have to finish this one and if it turns out right, I will probably make another as a master. This time with the casting technology in mind. Right now I have to correct my mistake that has occured somewhere along the way. I found a 5mm difference in the length of either the boom or the subframe. The mistake was quite obvious when I installed the hydraulic cylinders and they appeared to be in a wrong angle. I cut the subframe in half and extended the rails with 5mm pieces. The lower position of the boom is not low enough. I have to shorten the hydraulic cylinders yet. The underlift fully extracted The stretched frame makes the assembly look better as the tower now fits better inbetween the guiding plates. Jarda

Alright. These are the main DTU parts in primer. I use Tamyia grey primer from a rattle can. The light was poor, there are some spots to be repaired here and there. Once it is done the paint will follow. Those were just the main parts. I still need to produce things like the tool box doors, hoses and cables, the tubing, chains and hooks. Still long way to go. I painted the first coat of yellow. The paint job is far from being finished but this is how it looks now. Besides the DTU parts there are the grey ones in the picture. These are the fuel tanks, the breathers, the brackets and the fifth wheel ready for painting. The headache rack comes from the RoG. I cut the spare one to make the case. The door part is unchanged. I did not take care too much of the back wall as it will be facing the back of the sleeper. Just a piece of scrap sheet cut to shape and silver painted. I still have to make the base out of some "I" channels. Thanks for looking. Jarda

Chris2, the RoG headache rack is just the 3-door part and a chain tray which I did not use. My bulky tool box is scratchbuilt and I used a spare rack and another hash plate from my parts box to make it. Any RoG Peterbilt comes with a complete 60" sleeper and the headache rack. Even the Bill Signs and the fire truck kits have those parts incuded. Merry Christmas Jarda

Looks to me like another part you should have resin cast! I have parts of an old fire truck kit with nice doors like that but in flat steel. I have been thinking I may make a headache rack from them. I think you have inspired me!
