The rivet details came out great. Can you give an info as to who is the manufacturer of the decals? I know some but they produce the rivet lines for planes. They donĀ“t seem to match the cab of a truck in 1-25 scale. Yours fit just right. Jarda

I ordered these decals from Micro-Mark, www.MicroMark.com , their part # is 84987 "O scale surface detail rivet decals". As railroad rolling stock is even more massive than trucks, rivets sized for O (1/48) worked out well on a 1/25 truck.

In the "on again/off again" rotation of this project it is "on again". Cab mounts had me puzzled for a while as 1:1 truck does not have the style in AMT kit. Turned out that Astro/Titan cab support pieces were a close match for the coil spring in bracket portion, styrene strip used for mounting pad. Styrene again used throughout for Farr air cleaner and brackets for it and exhaust stack, only exception being brass strip (cut from shim) for straps on power steering reservoir and etched brass mesh for face of filter element:

Photo etch is K&S, from their Special Shapes selection. I used their #SSM-89 which has 2.0 mm square openings.

A bit more done on chassis, fitting up fuel tanks and air dryer installed: Closer view of air dryer. Brass tube used for shocks (1/8" for main shock body, 3/32" for lower portion and mounting eyes) on 1/16" styrene rod mounts. Sounds like a lot of work, actually I find it easier to solder mounting eyes on shock body and assemble onto model as upper/lower halves can telescope making setting exact length easy. And there are no sink marks/parting lines/ejector pin marks/flash/all of the above to clean up!

Nice idea on the shocks. I'll have to give that a try one day.
